The Maggie Sparks Sunlighter of the Year Awards are your chance to celebrate an individual or group who’s made an outstanding contribution to the Port Sunlight community in 2022. Nominations are open until 31st March 2023.

The Maggie Sparks ‘Sunlighter of the Year’ Award

This award recognises the outstanding contribution an individual has made to the Port Sunlight community.

The Maggie Sparks ‘Sunlighters of the Year’ Team Award

This award recognises the outstanding group contribution to the Port Sunlight community. This could be any group. It might be an organisation or a community or social group. It could even be a family.

Criteria

The Maggie Sparks ‘Sunlighter of the Year ‘Award is for individuals.

The Maggie Sparks ‘Sunlighters of the Year’ Team Award is for groups.

The awards are open to village residents and non-residents, and there is no age limit.

Anyone can make a nomination, but you just need to show that the activity:

• has helped Port Sunlight Village
• has happened since January 2022
• was voluntary (i.e. there was no personal financial gain)

How do you take part?

Please complete an application form and return by email to volunteering@portsunlightvillage.com or post to PSVT’s office.

Forms are available to download at portsunlightresidents.com. They can be emailed to you or you can pick one up at the Church Hall.

All nominations must be submitted by 31st March 2023.

You can submit up to 5 pieces of extra information to support your application. These could include photographs, marketing materials or letters of support.

Judging

The selection panel will include PSVT’s Honorary President Maggie Sparks and a representative from the Port Sunlight community. They will review all nominations and create a shortlist. The shortlist will be announced in May via the website portsunlightresidents.com, PSVT social media platforms, and village noticeboards.

Presentation of awards

Presentation of the awards will be at a celebration event for all volunteers during Volunteer Week, 1st-8th June 2023.
